New year greeting 2020

Happy new year!
Wishing you a year filled with peace, good health and happiness.

Looking back last year, we had many guests from overseas who visited Japan to watch Rugby world cup. I was impressed how all the national teams played for the victory clashing their bodies with spirit of fair play. But I was more moved by how Japan team which consisted of multi nationalities trusted each other and evolved to higher level then they became one of the best 8 teams.
Kamejikan team has been working together for more than 8 years and we have also become stronger as a team.
Still, I am more grateful for our guests from all over the world, all the people connected with us in many ways as I know we can not be here without your supports.

Another issue I have been concerned with since last year is the demonstration in Hong Kong organized by young generation. I remember 3 Hong Kong guys stayed here last summer to enjoy Fuji Rock festival. They also join the demonstration sometimes to protect their freedom and they confessed they could feel down when think about the demo anytime anywhere. I wish to support those who fight for freedom as I feel the same as Haruki Murakami, Japanese author once made a speech ” Always On The Side Of Egg“. Kamejikan welcomes Chinese guests and I don’t mean any political view. I just wish Kamejikan to be a relaxing place where you can be yourself and have a peace of mind for all the people no matter where you are from.

In 2020, the main building of Komyoji temple, the biggest temple in Zaimokuza area will be under big reconstruction for 10 years from this spring and there will be Olympic games this summer. Some shops closed down and others started new business even in our neighborhood. We are sure that this year will be full of changes and so yours will be. Life can be busy but when you want to take a break, I wish you could remember Kamejikan. We will be in Kamakura waiting for your visit as always.

PS:Kamejikan has guest books which guests can write or draw whatever they want(hope not complaining though). As I read them again in the end of last year, I realized many guests are so good at drawing. Though some of the language is difficult to understand but all the comments made us happy. I would like to share some of the highlights of the notes with you.
